Eeek! Eeek! The Chicken Littles Are Running Amok!

At midnight tonight the government will "run out of money" and will be shut down (except for military, postal workers, air traffic controllers, etc).  Actually it's long been broke, but that's another story.  I regret that the House GOP didn't hold to their principles but are settling only for a year's delay in the obama-care monstrosity, but it seems that isn't enough for the progressive leviathans in the Senate and White House.

So let it shut down.  It's happened before and somehow civilization still struggled on.  Hey!  Does that mean National Public Radio will go dark?  Now wouldn't that be a gigantic improvement for the airways!

Unfortunately, but not surprisingly, we do hear wailing and gnashing of teeth from some of the progressive infestations within the Church.  Father Larry Snyder, president of Catholic Charities, voices much angst at the prospect of a governmental shutdown.  Would that he would voice similar compunctions for those who will suffer under the disaster known as Obamacare.  Of course that includes the babies, but given that five years ago, Catholic Charities of Richmond VA actually aided and abetted an abortion for a minor girl under their care, maybe abortion is not high on their radar screen.  What might be high on the Catholic Charities' radar screen is all that federal funding that might get crimped.  I understand that approximately 60%-80% of CC's budget comes from governmental grants.  Dare I suggest that the feds cut that funding off pronto?  There is no Constitutional mandate whatsoever for the government to be funding charities in that fashion.  Such is the responsibility of private citizens.

The federal government is such an inept mess anyway - life will go on just fine without it for a few days.

Potty-Mouth Talk From Barbara Mikuslksi

Of course this sort of thing is nothing unexpected from a pro-abortion, pro-sodomite "katholic-in-name-only" politician who has remained prominent only because she has betrayed her Church and Jesus Christ.  If ever there was a person in dire need of the medicine of Canon 915, Barbara Mikulski would be that quintessential patient.  Archbishop Lori of Baltimore, please take note as you are her bishop and are now answerable before God for her.  Granted the ultimate responsibility is hers, and you are inheriting quite a mess from your predecessors who demurred from their duty towards her.  Please take public action against her and yes, Governor Martin O'Malley too for the sake of their souls.

In her latest screed, she has referred to many of us as practitioners of perverted acts with her use of the term "tea-baggers".  What comes out of her mouth is just symptomatic of the garbage that festers within her.  Pray for her.  Also let's work for her defeat in 2016.

RINO Roll Call Of Infamy

As we all know by now, the Senate voted by a predictable margin of 55-45 to pass the House version of the funding bill - sans the provision to defund Obamacare.  Of course the real vote came earlier; that was the vote for or against cloture.  Ultimately the vote was for cloture, and then the results for the later vote were a given.

The Senate Conservatives Fund shows the list of traitors who stabbed not only Ted Cruz and friends in the back, but also each and every one of this.  Many of them are the "usual gang of suspects": John McCain, Lisa Murkowski, etc.  But Mitch McConnell?  Isn't he supposed to be the Republican Minority Leader in the Senate?

I'm sure at least a few of them are up for re-election in 2014.  They need to be defeated, with the rest going down in flames when they're up next.

Pope Francis - Not Quite The Liberal For Which Progressives Yearned

On the heels of all the ecstasy and euphoria flowing from all media outlets liberal comes the proverbial rain on their parade.  Thanks to Te Deum Laudamus, we learn that Pope Francis just defrocked and excommunicated a dissident priest in Melbourne Australia.

Greg Reynolds (formerly Father Reynolds) incurred these penalties for his support of "gay marriage" and "women priests".  It is believed that Reynolds is the first (former) priest to be so disciplined in Melbourne.

I've also learned that a Brazilian priest, Father Roberto Daniel, was excommunicated for his support of "open marriage" and homosexuality.  Moreover, while he was still Archbishop of Buenos Aires, Pope Francis had defrocked and excommunicated yet another gay-enabling priest, Jose Nicolas Alessio.

Please pray for these men, that they may repent for they have placed their souls in danger of hell.  Pray for all such dissident priests (that means you, Father Peter Daly of Prince Frederick MD!) that they wake up and repent, lest they come unprepared to their final day of reckoning.

Freemasonry - Poison Outside And Within The Church

On Sunday I alluded to a video by ChurchMilitant.TV regarding freemasonry.  I post it below.  I also link to a list of source material used in the production of this clip.  Please watch this and take to heart.

Cardinal Burke: Nancy Pelosi Must Be Denied Holy Communion

LifeSiteNews published an article regarding an interview given by Cardinal Burke, head of the Apostolic Signatura.   The article links to the full interview as reproduced by the Wanderer.

As he commented about the status of the Church in the United States, he touched on many topics: the gay agenda, abortion, Tridentine Mass.  When asked about a particularly scandalous statement that Nancy Pelosi made regarding the Faith, he replied, "Certainly this is a case when Canon 915 must be applied." (emphasis mine)  Very simply, Canon 915 states that "those obstinately persevering in manifest grave sin are not to be admitted to Holy Communion".

Notice that His Eminence did not say that she shouldn't present herself for Holy Communion (that would be Canon 916).  No doubt he is aware that she would arrogantly do so anyway.  In invoking Canon 915, Cardinal Burke clearly lays the onus on the two bishops who would, before God, have some spiritual responsibility for Pelosi: Archbishop Salvatore Cordileone of San Francisco (her home diocese) and Cardinal Donald Wuerl of Washington DC (her "home-away-from-home" diocese).  Cardinal Wuerl has already made known his aversion to Canon 915.  Did I say "aversion"?  Perhaps "disregard" is a better word.  In fact, recall that in Lent of 2012, he actually punished a priest, Father Marcel Guarnizo for upholding Canon 915.  Most of my Feb-March 2012 posts elaborated on that disgraceful action of the DC chancery in regard to Father Guarnizo.

What Cardinal Wuerl and so many others call a "pastoral" approach is cowardice and/or currying of favor of powerful dissidents.  There is no real regard for the eternal destinies of Pelosi and others like her.  The real pastoral approach can be found in the words and practices of both Cardinal Burke and Father Guarnizo.

Homosexuals And Freemasons In The Church

Michael Voris's Mic'd Up, produced last week, was just released in youtube format yesterday.  In it he interviews Randy Engel, author of "Rite of Sodomy".  I'd suggest that you read this book.  By the way - what she has to say about the role of the USCCB is just one more in the litany of reasons why the USCCB needs to be scuttled - not "reformed" but utterly demolished.

In the second portion Voris interviews John Salza, a former 32nd degree mason who is now warning of the dangers of freemasonry.  Salza makes mention of the consecration of Russia that Our Lady of Fatima requested.  Let's be clear: the consecration of Russia, per Our Lady's specific request, has NOT happened!  There is a reputed quote from Sr Lucia that she conceded that Russia was consecrated.  We did not hear this from Sr Lucia herself and now we never will.  Frankly I don't believe that report of her statement.  Our Lady did not request that "the world" be consecrated, but that the Holy Father consecrate Russia - by name - and in union with all the bishops.  Now either they believe Our Lady of Fatima, or they don't!  If they do, why the foot-dragging when it comes to obeying her specific requests?

In this interview with Salza, Voris alludes to a "Faith-Based Investigation" report on freemasonry that appears to go into greater detail.  When that is available I will post it.

As I Was Saying...,

Most are aware of the kerfuffle that broke out yesterday after Pope Francis said, "we cannot insist only on issues of abortion, gay marriage and the use of contraceptive methods."  I underlined the word "only" for a reason.  Many (including some pro-life folks) seem to be passing over that word as they take in His Holiness' words.  Indeed, if the word "only" had been eliminated from His Holiness' remarks, there would indeed be cause for much consternation.  What he said though, is that we cannot emphasize those matters to the exclusion of the rest of the Deposit of Faith, that is, the entirety of the Church's teaching.  He certainly never implied that we cannot consider them at all.  Now there does remain the problem of clergy not teaching upon any of the Truths of the Faith; that shortcoming needs to be rectified, and pronto.

Today the Holy Father made very clear that he adheres to, and will promulgate the Church's teaching on the sanctity of life.  Read from LifeSiteNews.

Stoplight Connects Some Dots

Stuart Shepard has a plausible theory regarding some of the Obama regime antics of late.

Pope Francis - "Not Necessary To Talk Of Abortion All The Time"

The Catholic blogosphere is all aghast and atwitter about remarks attributed to Pope Francis made during interviews he gave to certain Jesuit publications - America being one of them.  From that article, here is the key phrase in question, in what I believe is proper context (from America):  "We cannot insist only on issues related to abortion, gay marriage and the use of contraceptive methods. This is not possible. I have not spoken much about these things, and I was reprimanded for that. But when we speak about these issues, we have to talk about them in a context. The teaching of the church, for that matter, is clear and I am a son of the church, but it is not necessary to talk about these issues all the time."

I think the operative phrase here is "in a context".  What is this context of not the entirety of Christ's teaching through His Church?  There is the mystery of the Trinity.  There are the truths of the Sacraments, the Creed, and the Ten Commandments, Our Lord's Crucifixion and Resurrection.  Of course there are also what we call the Last Four Things: Death, Judgment, Heaven and Hell.  Of course there is more to consider.  Quite frankly, I think a lot of pro-life efforts fall short of their goals because the leaders don't proclaim the eternal realities that are the underpinnings behind our pro-life beliefs.  The Apostle Paul said so much himself in 1 Corinthians 15, when he stated that our belief and hope in the resurrection of the dead is our prime motivator for living as Christians and not as amoral heathens.

Perhaps the Holy Father didn't state things in a concise manner, but this is what I've gleaned from that quote in the interview.  I also hope that our clergy understand that comprehensive catechesis needs to be happening in the pulpit and in the classrooms.  For too many of them, the problem is not talking of these matters too much, but not all.

Australian Diocese Bans 40 Days For Life

Apparently the bishop thinks that 40 Days for Life isn't in accord with the Church - but some envirowhacko "climate change" racket is.  What??!?!?

American Life League Releases Report On CRS Grants

American Life League released today a report on various grants issued by the Catholic Relief Services during the year 2012.  It is quite well-researched; I urge its study.  Judie Brown, on the American Life League website, issued more comments about the state of affairs at the CRS.

In related news, the National Catholic Register commented about the latest CRS scandals.  In their article, they commented on an interview that they conducted with Dr. William Marshner, moral theologian at Christendom College.  In that interview, Dr. Marshner appears to exonerate CRS a bit.  However, in a subsequent interview with LifeSiteNews, Dr. Marshner stated that at the time of his Register interview,  he did not realize how integral is the distribution of contraception and abortifacients to the work of Population Services International.  He stated that if he were asked again that he would defer to the wishes of the local bishops and he agreed that PSI should have received no CRS funds.

In the video below, Michael Hichborn highlights the ALL report.  He draws some comparisons between CCHD and CRS.  I will opine that he gives CCHD and by extension, the USCCB, way too much credit for cleaning up their act.  They are indeed putting forth token efforts, but that's due only to the increased scrutiny under which the CCHD has found itself - in large part due to the herculean efforts of Hichborn and others.

I've stated this before and will keep on repeating it.  Not only should the CCHD and CRS be defunded, but the entire USCCB should be abolished and swept into the dung heap of infamous history.

Paralysis By Analysis - Is That Just An Act?

Last week I wrote why it's a moral imperative to defund Obamacare in its entirety.  The US Bishops are so keen to act on lesser matters such ad immigration, but delight in dragging their feet when it comes to that menace to humanity called Obamacare.

Not to worry!  Cardinal Dolan assures us that "efforts are proceeding apace".  What he doesn't tell us is that "apace" means "the pace of a snail".  And guess what?  "Further discussion will take place" at the USCCB meeting in Baltimore this November.  Oh, yippee!  With all that yap and yammer, all will be sweetness and sunshine once again!

Boys and girls, can we all say, "too little too late"?  When the Baltimore meeting convenes, the decision to fund (or hopefully defund) Obamacare will already have occurred.  Those November discussions will be akin to the Titanic crew debating on the deck flower arrangements while the ship is sinking.  Does it not occur to you that if they're putting this on their November agenda, that they fully expect Obamacare to be in place?

I would say that they're inept and stupid, but that would be too charitable.  I'm serious.  If Obamacare is funded, the US bishops and their puppet-string pullers will bear moral culpability for every baby that's aborted thanks to Obamacare and every ill person victimized by the death panels.  Far too many of them actually yearn for socialized medicine but know that flies in the face of Magisterial teaching.  To appease faithful Catholics, they put up this "dumb but lovable little bumpkins" act so that they can pretend that they tried to stop it.    We are not falling for it any more, and we will call them out on their duplicity and deceit.

Pro-Abortion Masks Are Coming Off!

If nothing else, these students of Colorado State University are quite candid about their disdain for human life.   And this is a common mindset.  About fifteen years ago, a young man came to my door to solicit donations for some anti-animal cruelty cause.  I asked him what he thought of the murder of babies.  Quite unabashedly he opined that "we have to reduce the number of people to give animals a chance".  With that I very politely and even more directly informed him why he would not get one red cent from me and sent him on his way.

Ht to Students for Life for this video.

Vibrant Church? NOT!

I link now to an article from Radio Vaticana.  It is an account of an interview given by Pope Francis.  It was originally written in Italian and translated into English by the website.  I certainly hope it is a poor translation, for this quote of Pope Francis's is otherwise unbelievable.  It is, "I dare say that the Church has never been so good as today. The Church does not collapse.  I'm sure, I'm sure."  Of course the Church will never collapse; we have Our Lord's promise of that.  But "never so good as today"?  Again, I hope that is not what the Holy Father intended; the choppy style gives me hope that this rendition is simply a faulty translation.

Folks, let's face it.  We have churches closing down, Catholics not attending Mass and those attending not knowing their faith and not caring about their ignorance.  All this and much more greatly diminishes chances of them attaining their eternal salvation.  While the Church won't collapse, there's no gainsaying that she is in rotten shape.  That's not to be a pessimist, but we must be honest if we're going to be able to improve things.

A Woman-Priestess-Wannabee Enthuses Over The Dancing Bishops

We all recall the sorry spectacle that some bishops made of themselves at World Youth Day.  Some of us called them out for belittling the dignity of their sacred ordinations.

Enters now Sister Martha Ann Kirk, a "liturgical dancer" herself and priestess-wannabee.  Both of these proclivities put her at serious variance with the Magisterium.  To me, it's no surprise that a dissident would wax ecstatic about that incident.

Sister notes that a choreographer called "Fly" led them in the routine.  Last month I posted about Fly's, uh, "career".  Consider that the bishops allowed themselves to be played the fools by this man.   She then tries to justify the debacle with some quotes of various saints, but these quotes fall flat on their face.  St Francis de Sales probably would not consider that performance the "honey to catch flies".  St Teresa of Avila speaks of a "sense of humor".  Part of having a sense of humor is knowing when something is NOT humorous, but rather ridiculous.  Further down she attempts to use Matthew 11:15-19.  Isn't is odd that she doesn't see fit to quote Jesus' entire statement?

We see Sister quoting the New Yorker, and that in turn opines that "Pope Francis sidesteps the issues of dogma and Church law.." to "embrace the core of Christ's Gospel message."  Don't you just wonder how this touchy-feely crowd intends to define "the core of Christ's Gospel message" without dogma and Church law?  Oh, what am I thinking?  These are the new progressives who know so much better than did the Apostles, Church Fathers and millions of faithful Catholics who preceded us these past two thousand years.  They will lead the way, as they twirl and pirouette anytime and anywhere they can.  Heaven forbid that they be "pushed into a limited corner of thought and reaction".

Pray tell, what is their difficulty with "thought"?  After all, are we not made in the image and likeness of God particularly in our faculties of intellect and will?  What we might be seeing in Sister's piece is a little "tipping of the hand", as we see a none-too-subtle attempt to short-circuit thought and reason as it was so aptly done by Fly and his team.

She does whine and pout about us "angry bloggers" who will not sit silently while our leaders not only make fools of themselves but belittle the very Gospel that they are called to preach.  Too bad.  No more will they get away with such travesties.

Vortex Addresses Infestation Within Church

Somehow I missed this last month but it's still quite relevant.  Here is the link to the article to which Voris alludes.

The Left's Founding Fathers

Last month the Independent Journal Review published an article by Kyle Becker as he profiles the men whom he believes to be "founding fathers" of the left.  His list goes all the way back to Plato.  I frankly was a bit surprised to see Sir Thomas More included in that list.  If in fact More did espouse the abolition of private property, that in no way diminishes his witness to the sanctity of marriage and the primacy of the papacy.  In their defense, he was a martyr for the faith and thus is properly recognized as St. Thomas More.

Many of the others were no surprise: Marx, Dewey, Marcuse, etc.  Quite a few were unknown to me.  I'd suggest a study of these, to see how thinking inimical to Christianity was promulgated throughout the centuries.

MD NARAL Fundraiser September 21 2013 - WE WILL PICKET!!!!

Remember this from last year?  Well they're doing their thing again, raising money to promote the whole-scale slaughter of babies in Maryland and beyond.

We will be there again, as well.  We will not let them celebrate and promote the murder of defenseless children in comfort and complacency.  As we did last year, we will stand along the sidewalk with our signs (some of them graphic) to remind them that they are promoting grave evil.  Sadly, some of the attendees are elected officials; they are in dire need of remedial education.

The event will occur Saturday, September 21st.  It will be at the Oak Room, adjacent to the Sandy Spring Volunteer Fire Department at 17921 Brooke Road in Sandy Spring MD.  It is just one block north of the Brooke Road / Route 108 intersection.  Their event is scheduled to begin at 8pm so we'll be there from 7pm to greet them as they arrive.

PLEASE JOIN US!  And pass along word of this effort!  Your voice and presence will make a difference.

Mic'd Up On Church's Self-Destruction

Michael Voris based the title of this "Mic'd Up" episode on a statement made by Pope Paul VI as he reflected on negative results of the mis-application of Vatican II pronouncements.  The first guest was Pat Archibald of Creative Minority Report, who spoke of the need for the Muslims' conversion to the One True Faith, not some wishy-washy "dialog".  Would the Archdiocese of Washington folks assigned to watch this blog please summon Cardinal McCarrick to watch this (starting at the 14-minute mark)?  He stands in dire need of this reminder of why he was ordained.

Flower Power! It's Baaaack!!

It certainly is in Boulder, Colorado!  It has, for some time, had a reputation as a tree-hugger haven.  But now the local government seeks to ensconce that reputation in law.  They want to "acknowledge the right of ..ecosystems and native species populations to exist and flourish".  If these "rights" are violated, that is considered ecocide!

Do unborn children have the right in Boulder to "exist and flourish"?  Oh, don't be silly!  They remain fodder for Planned Parenthood and all the rest of the real predators.

Such priorities!  One can decapitate and dismember tiny children (as long as they're in their mothers' wombs), but don't you dare think of removing the petals from a petunia or (eek!) cutting down a tree lest you be guilty of the high crime and misdemeanor called "ecocide"!

In Boulder CO, the insane have seized control of the asylum!

Sshhh! Illegal Dinner Parties Afoot!!!

I hope and pray that this is a joke.  Given Michael Bloomberg's control-freak nature, this is in the foreseeable future even if it's a joke now!  Imagine!  The scandal of it all!  People eating and socializing in each others' homes without the Nanny State to supervise what free citizens may put into their mouths!  Why, there might be trans-fats!  Or salt!  Or even (heaven forbid!) a 16-ounce soda!

See here for what I hope is a spoof.

PRI Calls For Abolition Of Catholic Relief Services

The Population Research Institute, an arm of Human Life International, has done yeoman's work in exposing the abysmal pro-abortion filth that emanates from the Catholic Relief Services.  CRS has been acting as a de facto branch of USAID instead of the Catholic Church: hence its blatant disregard for the authority of the bishops of Madagascar.  Now PRI asks that the bishops dissolve the Catholic Relief Services.

Hear!  Hear!

I would only add that the entire USCCB itself (along with the state conferences) should be abolished. Pope Benedict made clear that national Catholic conferences have no inherent ecclesiastical authority and ours has shown itself to be a progressive front organization through and through. The antics of the CRS and CCHD are merely manifestations of the rot and corruption that has governed the USCCB since its inception in the mid-20th century.

A Gun That Should Be Banned

No, I have not altered my belief in the Second Amendment.  But somehow I don't think the Founding Fathers had this contraption in mind.

Look at the "business end" of it.  Yes, ladies and gentlemen, that is an intra-uterine device, commonly known as an IUD.  Read this Lifenews article for some background behind this hare-brained gizmo.  Can any sane woman conceive of this thing being crammed into her interior?  The feminists liked to screech about the "hanger"; do they cotton to this?  As far as their "safe, legal and rare" mantra goes, all they really care about is the "legal" part.  They are utterly callous towards the young baby (this thing is abortifacient) and obviously care diddly-squat about women.

In Memoriam

As we ponder the events of twelve years ago, let us not forget the 15,330,000 babies murdered by abortionist-terrorists during these same twelve years.  While the pro-abortion media and politicians wax mournful about those killed at the World Trade Center and the Pentagon (and that's appropriate), they not only turn a blind eye towards the aborted babies, but laud their murderers.  What an abysmal dichotomy in attitude.

Defunding Of Obamacare - Moral Imperative For US Bishops

A piece by Terry Jeffrey was posted in today's online edition of Townhall.com.  It is entitled, "A Vote to Fund Obamacare Will Fund Deliberate Destruction of Life".  He's right.  There's no getting around it.  He is focused on the bill that Congress must vote upon to fund the US government past September 30th.  That funding measure will contain funding for Obamacare and all its immoral ramifications.

I'll quote a succinct sentence of his: "If the bill permits funding for implementation of Obamacare and a member votes for it, that member will be voting to allow the administration to send tax dollars to health care providers who perform abortions."  While I'm not a moral theologian by any stretch, I cannot see how such a vote would not constitute formal and material cooperation with grave moral evil.  Therefore I cannot see how any faithful Catholic can support Obamacare.  To my progressive/liberal readers: don't even try to invoke the Principle of Double Effect; the funneling of tax dollars to fund the murders of countless babies far outweighs any benefit that might come from Obamacare - and such benefits probably don't exist anyway.

No faithful Catholic in Congress can vote for any funding resolution as it currently stands.  No other decent Catholic can support it.  That means you, Your Eminences and Your Excellencies!

Yes, let's focus on the pathetic stance taken by the US bishops so far.  And truly it has been pathetic, wimpy and downright wimpy.  All we've heard from them is pleas to be exempted from the HHS contraception mandate (as if the rights of other decent people don't matter).  Nowhere have I read that the bishops were calling for the defunding of the Obamacare monstrosity.  The tweaks for the bill they did propose amount to putting lipstick on a rattlesnake.

The bishops and priests of this nation have a solemn duty to demand that Obamacare be defunded.  If the progressives rattle the saber of "shutting down the government", let that be on their heads.  It's way past time that our shepherds found the clarity and courage to cry out "NO!" to the grave moral evil that is called Obamacare.

Self-Righteousness From An Accessory To Murder

From LifesiteNews we read that pro-choice clinic escorts (hereinafter referred to as "deathscorts") are displeased with our presence in front of the death camps.

The LifeSiteNews piece is This was based on a pro-abortion article written by a student from GWU who volunteers  as a deathscort; it appears that she does so in Virginia.  This means she probably hitched up with WACDTF.  We’ve known for some time that GWU is quite the recruiting ground for WACDTF.

Her article starts off with inaccuracies.  She says that “I figure that the women who come here have agonized over this decision enough. They have considered their own circumstances, looked at all the options, and come to the best possible decision that they can make.”  I can tell you that is often NOT the case.  One woman was referred to the mill by her doctor.  He told her to get “a procedure” done to address her morning sickness.  When we explained what “the procedure” was, she was horrified.  We got her real help.  That was several years ago; her baby is now in school.

Note towards the end where David Bereit hypothesizes his theory regarding the deathscorts’ rancor.  He opines, “They view us as self-righteous, judgmental, hateful, angry, trying to take away rights from women.   That's why they harass us. That's why they taunt us.”  With all due respect to David, I think his diagnosis to be simplistic and incomplete.  A key reason why they’re angry at us, even when we’re silent, is because our very presence out there pricks their seared consciences.  We are not validating them in their sin and therefore we are the objects of their derision.  As long as they continue in their mortal sin, that will never change.  Now while we don’t condemn them, we will not be hampered in our efforts to offer real life-affirming to women going in to the abortuary.  Funny thing – as much as the deathscorts wax self-righteous about “women’s rights”, they turn a blind eye to women who are obviously being coerced into abortion – all the more to fatten the wallets of the abortuaries whom they dutifully serve.

The so-called “service” happened in Virginia.  I wonder if this woman is sore about the closing of NOVA Women’s Health Care in Fairfax VA.  We commonly referred to it by the street name “Eaton Place”.  It was the busiest abortion mill in VA until new abortion regulations, championed by Ken Cuccinili, forced it to shut its doors and stop killing.  I suspect this deathscort’s article is nothing more than a pity-party.  As more mills close down, expect more of these screeds.  It’s just evil in its death throes.  And yes, pray that this woman and others like her repent.  Their immortal souls are in grave peril.

Two Madagascar Bishops Interviewed Regarding CRS In Their Country

Lifesite News posted within the past few days their interviews with Archbishop Desire Tsarahazana and Archbishop Odon Razanakolona.  They both lament the non-Catholic control under which the Catholic Relief Services operates.

While they opine that the USCCB needs to reclaim control of the CRS, I believe that the USCCB wishes this state of affairs to exist.  It is the USCCB that is the source of the progressive influence into charitable outreaches.  The CRS, as well as CCHD, are only the manifestations of the moral rot.  They cannot be reformed in my opinion.  They must be abolished - as well as the USCCB that controls them.

So Bishop Robert Lynch Is Ashamed?

From his Sept 1st posting on his blog, the bishop of St Petersburg (FL) says, "I am ashamed to say that the Catholic Church in the United States sadly gave President George W. Bush largely a free pass in Iraq."

His Excellency would do far better to be ashamed that he himself gave the proverbial "free pass" to Michael Schiavo as the latter went about murdering his invalid wife Terri within the borders of the Diocese of St. Petersburg.  His conduct eighteen years ago was an absolute debacle, coming from a successor to the Apostles.  I too oppose the proposed strike in Syria, but Bishop Lynch's words ring hollow and shallow in light of his gross dereliction of duty towards Terri Schiavo.

First Part Of Attacks On The Vortex

When I put up the Mic'd Up post yesterday, I didn't realize that I was posting only the second part of Wednesday's two-hour broadcast.  My apologies for any confusion.  Below is the first part.

Attacks On The Vortex Apostolate (And On Others Like It)

On Wednesday evening Michael Voris did a live broadcast discussing the repercussions he (and some others) have experienced for exposing corruption within the Church hierarchy.  If you missed it then, here it is now.  Please watch.  It's long but worth the time.  As you watch, consider that this blog and its sister website were created in order to side-step the silence and stonewalling of the Catholic Standard in regards to Cardinal McCarrick's refusal to obey Canon 915 and his habit of hob-nobbing with pro-abortion big-wigs.

Maryland - Where Butchers Continue To Get A Free Pass

Some of us were starting to think that the Maryland Board of Physicians was beginning to realize that it had a duty to the public to prevent quacks from masquerading as physicians.  We had seen some licenses at least suspended and mills closed because of unsafe conditions and even the deaths of some women.

Our elation was premature.  I suppose we momentarily forgot that most of the Annapolis legislature - and our "katholyc" governor - are beholden to pro-abortion moneybags and sugar-daddies.  Operation Rescue learned that the suspensions of two abortionists associated with Stephen Brigham have been lifted.  Iris Dominy is one of the two.  She was implicated in the death of Maria Santiago at Brigham's Baltimore facility.  On August 29th that suspension was lifted.  She is still prohibited from performing any procedure requiring the use of sedation.  If that stipulation still holds, then there is still valid concern for her overall competency.  So why was her license not permanently stripped?

I suspect the Board has had the "riot act" read to it by powers-that-be in Annapolis.  It's quite revealing to go to their websites and see how many sport endorsements from NARAL, NOW, Planned Parenthood, etc.  And yes, ladies and gentlemen, the 2014 elections are just a year away.  For those of you who are not from Maryland, all state and local officials are up for election every four years (during the times that there are no presidential races).  They cannot afford to offend their pro-abortion campaign contributors, so they will indeed do all they can to make Maryland a proverbial "mecca for murder".

If We're Going To Pray For Peace In Syria

We need to keep some things in context.  While we are all watching the situation in the Middle East (and our rogue president's chest-thumping) with understandable trepidation, are we forgetting that every day we as a nation are guilty of the murder of 3500 innocent babies?

Blessed Mother Teresa of Calcutta said quite eloquently,  "I feel that the greatest destroyer of peace today in the world is abortion, because it is a war against the child – a direct killing of the innocent child – murder by the mother herself. And if we can accept that a mother can kill even her own child, how can we tell other people not to kill one another?"  So many of us wax anxious about the state of affairs in Syria - as well we should.  We could very well be on the precipice of World War III.  However, we have grown "used to" the large-scale murders of thousands of babies every day.  Nowadays we're hearing of babies being discarded in dumpsters and flushed down toilets in the United States of America and then we claim to be shocked, just shocked, at weapons of mass destruction being used in the Middle East?  If we're so outraged about chemical warfare, why do we not ban the Pill, Plan B and all the other poisons routinely ingested by mothers to kill their infants?

I'll catch flak for saying this, but them's the breaks.  If you are not doing all that you can to end the slaughter known as abortion, then don't bother praying for peace in Syria or any other part of the world.  As long as our laws permit the slaughter of babies, there will be war.  In fact the slaughter of babies is war.  Oh, it might be all nice and neat and tucked away, but abortion has taken more human life than all the modern wars combined.  The war that we're seeing in Syria is just an outgrowth of the devaluing of human life.  With our morals at "barbarian" levels, we'll be seeing all sorts of strife pop up, even locally.

The Holy Father has asked us to make this Saturday, Sept 7, a day for prayer and fasting for peace.  Might I suggest that part of the prayer and fast be your public witness at your local abortion mill?  Offer a Rosary in front of your local baby-murder house.  It is also First Saturday; ask Our Lady of Fatima to intercede for peace - first in the womb, for if it doesn't exist there, it won't exist elsewhere.

On The Bandwagon To Attack Syria

Don't these two men have any principles whatsoever?  They are going to help plunge the United States into a
foolhardy military strike.  We have reason to suspect that it is the Syrian rebels who murdered their countrymen, not the Syrian government.  Moreover we have no clear-cut objectives, save to avenge the crossing of some "red line".  These two men are proving themselves to be an utter disaster for this country.

What's that?  You think I'm bashing Obama and Biden again?  Such confusion is quite understandable, but on this occasion, those two (incompetent though they are) are not the cause of my displeasure.  I speak of John Boehner, the Speaker of the House and Eric Cantor, the House Majority Leader.  They are following lock-step behind the Messiah Most Miserable.

Of course we have the usual gang of suspects lining up like mice behind that pied piper called Obama: John Kerry (who won't be tossing any medals over the fence on this occasion), John McCain, Nancy Pelosi et al.  No surprise there.  But Boehner and Cantor?  Truth be told, I anticipated the House Weeper displaying his spine of linguine but still held some vague hope that he might actually display some mettle.  Nope!  Well, come 2014, Boehner and Cantor have got to go.  They have sold their country down the river just a few times too often.

Wasn't Abortion Supposed To Prevent This?

First, let's start with a passage from Scripture, Isaiah 49:15.  "Can a mother forget the baby at her breast and have no compassion on the child she has borne?"

Since the legalization of abortion, babies have been seen as disposable commodities more and more; thus says Peter Singer (he may be a callous eugenicist, but he's up front about it!).  It is all too common to hear of babies being thrown in the trash and flushed down toilets.  My childhood was spent in that quaint era before Roe v Wade, when babies were rightly seen as persons and worthy of protection.  Now that we're living in the era of "every child a wanted child", news of such maltreated babies comes to us at least monthly.

Last March a Boston-area ob/gyn related her bizarre experience with a teenager who gave birth to a premature boy, stuffed him in a bread bag and tried to flush him down the toilet.  Fortunately her blood was noticed flowing from the rest room door and hospital security prevented that murder.  Last May we learned of a baby boy being flushed down a toilet in China.  By God's grace his cries were heard from sewer pipes and he was cut loose from the pipes and received treatment.

On August 17th in Bethlehem PA, Amanda Heim was watching a wrestling match in a sports bar.  She got up, went to the rest room, gave birth to her baby boy.  She then murdered him and stuffed his body in a toilet tank.  After that, in blood-stained clothes, she returned to the booth and continued to watch the wrestling match.  After receiving complaints of a non-functioning toilet, the bar management made the horrible discovery.  Recalling that a specific booth had blood stains on it, management gave the reservation information to police who then tracked down Heim.

During this past weekend in Jersey City NJ, some boys discovered an abandoned baby in a trash bag in back of an apartment complex.  They notified apartment superintendents who in turn called the police.  The boy is in stable condition.

So here we are, 40 years later.  More and more babies are literally being treated like garbage.  While we should be grateful for the decent people who did avert tragedy in these scenarios, what of all the one about which we don't hear?  May God grant us a spirit of repentance before He comes to judge us.

Caught In The Act!

The expression on his face is priceless!  Pray that all little ones will one day enjoy full protection and the love that I believe this little guy experiences.

Shedding More Light On The Church Of Nice

A Blog For Dallas Area Catholics weighed in on the rancor of the "church of nice" against Michael Voris and some of us other faithful Catholics who will call them on the carpet.  Please take time to read it.
